Schumacher had other education than Verstappen: 'He preferred fishing'
- Toby McLuskie
Ralf Schumacher thinks that, if nothing crazy happens, the battle for the world title is settled. Max Verstappen is driving in a class of his own, argues the German in conversation with Ran.de.
In Miami, the Dutch Red Bull driver showed a true gala performance. The two-time world champion proved to be of a different order than teammate Sergio Perez by beating his teammate, who started from pole position, from ninth position. Ralf Schumacher also saw a supreme Verstappen. "No, it is not a battle. If everything goes normally, Verstappen is driving in a class of his own," stated the former F1 driver.
Although Michael Schumacher 's brother sees that the Mexican is also no slouch. "He is doing well and above all he is a great teammate. He should focus on that," thinks the six-time race winner.
The difference between Schumacher and Verstappen
Verstappen is obsessed with motorsport. If he is not doing his laps on track, he is at home (or on his plane) behind the simulator. How come the Red Bull driver is so crazy about racing?"That definitely has to do with his upbringing," Schumacher thinks. "I know Jos. Max only sat on the kart track and neglected his schoolwork. With my parents, it was different."
"My mother worked at a go-kart track, but my father had zero interest in the sport. He preferred to go fishing," says the former Williams driver. "Even when Michael and I raced in Formula 1, he preferred not to come. It was too stressful for him," Schumacher concludes with a laugh.
