Wolff doesn't expect miracles from Mercedes' new upgrades
- Cas van de Kleut
During this coming weekend, the crown jewel of motorsport will once again take place: the Monaco Grand Prix. After last week's race in Imola was cancelled due to severe weather, the Formula 1 circus will be back in full swing this weekend. Toto Wolff looks ahead to the spectacle in the Mercedes preview ahead of the race weekend.
The Monte Carlo race will be the first race of this season to be held in Europe. Mercedes has not done great outside Europe yet. The W14 is not achieving the hoped-for results: it cannot compete for wins, let alone the championship.
Wolff tempers expectations
Monaco will see the first major upgrades on Mercedes' car, which should help them gain some time on the competition. However, Wolff does not expect us to expect miracles: "It won't be a silver bullet; from my experience, they do not exist in our sport. We hope that it gives the drivers a more stable and predictable platform. Then we can build on that in the weeks and months ahead."
