'Ferrari developing brand new floor'
- GPblog.com
Ferrari is having a mediocre season in 2023. The Scuderia's only podium this season was achieved by Charles Leclerc in Baku. The SF-23 seems to be keeping up well over one lap, but when it comes to speed in the race, Ferrari is having a very tough time. Formu1a.uno reports that the Italian formation is working hard to introduce a new floor as soon as possible.
In Spain, Ferrari already came out with a major update for the car. This did not yet seem to be a great step forward at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, but in the following race weekend in Canada it was different. However, the two Ferrari drivers did not get beyond a fourth and fifth place here, but Helmut Marko said after the race that the Scuderia was the fastest at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve though.
Ferrari working on new floor
For the current generation of cars, the floor is incredibly important. In Monaco, the floors of the RB19 and SF-23 were visible after crashes of both Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz. In doing so, it was clear to see that the floor under the Red Bull Racing car was many times more complicated than the Ferrari floor.
The Italian medium writes that Enrico Cardile, the head of the chassis department at Ferrari, is pushing very hard to put a new, but also considerably different floor under the SF-23. The Scuderia is trying to have the floor ready for use "within a few weekends".
