What is a triple header?
A triple header in Formula 1 means there are three weekends of consecutive Grand Prix action. A race will take place three weeks in a row. The very first triple header took place in 2018 and featured the French, Austrian and British Grands Prix. The format received some negative reviews from people within the paddock due to the heavy workload. There were no tripleheaders held during the 2019 season.
The 2020 season kicked off with a triple header. The whole calendar had to be reshuffled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The first two races occurred at the same venue, with a short trip to Hungary taking place a week later.
