The Sky Sports F1 lead commentator is David Croft, and he is most frequently joined by pundit Martin Brundle in the trackside commentary box. The duo have been commentating on Formula 1 together since Sky Sports bought the rights to broadcast F1 in the United Kingdom in 2012.

Who are the commentators on Sky Sports F1?

David Croft is the lead commentator on Sky Sports, and he is in the commentary box for all sessions apart from FP1 during a traditional race weekend. Natalie Pinkham is the lead commentator for the first free practice when F1 uses its traditional format. Former driver Martin Brundle joins 'Crofty' for the meaningful sessions at most race weekends.

David Croft

Croft has held the lead commentary role at Sky Sports since 2012. Though he has been commentating regularly at F1 Grands Prix since 2006, when he worked for BBC Radio 5 Live. This commentary could be followed on the radio, BBC Red Button and BBC Sport Online. Crofty has commentated on over 300 Grands Prix, so it's no surprise why he's full of statistics. Prior to his F1 run, Croft was found in the commentary box at the 2002 Football World Cup and the 2004 Athens Olympics. Croft also currently commentates at the World Darts Championship for Sky Sports in December.

Martin Brundle

Brundle is the main pundit on Sky Sports. With 158 Grands Prix to his name, Brundle adds plenty of valuable insight into the drivers' minds and F1 technology during the meaningful sessions in a weekend. He is most well known for his grid walk before the race. During this, he attempts to speak to drivers, team bosses and the occasional celebrity. He is one of the most loved pundits in the United Kingdom, which explains how he has managed to hold the role for around a quarter of a century.

Who else commentates on Sky Sports F1?

Croft appears at every race, but Brundle doesn't travel to every event. There are several pundits that Sky Sports can choose from in the absence of Brundle. These include 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button, 2016 F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg, 1996 F1 World Champion Damon Hill, and former F1 drivers Anthony Davidson and Karun Chandhok. Three recent additions to the Sky team are; Danica Patrick, Naomi Schiff and Bernie Collins. These also join Crofty in the commentary box for FP1, FP2 and FP3 sessions.
