Despite some discussions over the team radio, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are on good terms. Speaking to Autosport, Leclerc says that while there are indeed discussions at times, relationship between the two teammates is fine. According to him, this is only blown up by the media.

Incidents at Silverstone

Especially during the Grand Prix at Silverstone, the relationship between the two drivers seemed strained. During qualifying, Sainz overtook Leclerc just before turning on for a fast lap, later in the session the Spaniard questioned his team's decisions. The incidents were quickly interpreted as internal problems at Ferrari, but Leclerc firmly denies these rumours.

"It's blown out of proportion, I think, with Carlos. We have a great relationship," Leclerc began. "Outside the car, we know how to work together, and we get on really well together because we share lots of interests." The Monegasque points out that there is competition in the team, but he sees that as a logical consequence of driving in the highest class in motorsport.

'Not looking too much behind board radios'

Leclerc also gives his opinion on the radio messages that can be heard around the world from time to time. The Ferrari driver believes the outside world should not look too much behind these statements as they are recorded in the heat of the moment. "Sometimes there's a bit of discussion over the radio on some situations, but it is just because we are competitive, and we both want to do the absolute best result possible. These are things that are normal. In the end, within the team, we know that we have a good relationship and we are working towards the same goals."
