Russell points to surprise at Zandvoort: 'They looked good!'
Mercedes are having a fairly mixed season so far. The car was not up to scratch at first, but seems to be getting a little better all the time. Lewis Hamilton competed at the top during the first two practice sessions, but teammate George Russell could not keep up with him. Still, the Briton let it be known to GPblog and others, that he is in good spirits.
Russell like Hamilton satisfied
"I think it was a promising day. It was probably a day of two halves. We were looking really strong on the harder compounds, on the hard and the medium. We were looking in probably the top four. The soft didn't quite go to plan, but the race pace looked strong. A few surprises out there, Williams looking really strong," Russell said.
Teammate Hamilton, like Russell, was hugely positive. On the Dutch coast this weekend, can Russell and Hamilton mount an attack on the Red Bull Racing of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez? We will find out soon enough.
