The Italian Grand Prix at Monza could add yet more rain to an already-soaked 2023 European Formula 1 season. Conditions are looking dry on Friday and Saturday, but rain is on the radar for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix

Rain has hit the last eight Grands Prix weekends, playing a major part on Saturday in Montreal, Spielberg and Silverstone. It also rained during the Grand Prix in Monaco and at various points in Barcelona. Rain fell on the Friday of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend. The Belgian Grand Prix lived up to its recent reputation with a mix of wet/dry conditions. Similar wet/dry conditions were experienced last time in The Netherlands, with a drying qualifying session and two heavy showers during the race.

What is the weather forecast for the Italian Grand Prix weekend?

According to weather.com, Friday and Saturday should be dry. On Friday, teams and drivers will complete two practice sessions. During the day, there is less than 10% chance of rain. It should be a clear day, with temperatures up to 26c. It will likely stay dry overnight, meaning the rubber laid should stay. Saturday is predicted to be cloudier, but the rain should stay away. On Sunday, the temperature is predicted to be exactly the same. However, rain clouds will start to form overnight, and showers are forecast. There is currently a 43% chance of rain during the day, which only increases towards the evening. Teams will be keeping a close eye on the radar as we head towards race day in Italy.
