Verstappen refutes Wolff's words: 'It does not work like that'

Sergio Perez indicated in the run-up to the Italian Grand Prix that he had struggled for some time with finding the best way to handle the RB19. Of any difficulty, his teammate at Red Bull Racing, Max Verstappen, did not suffer. Indeed, the Dutchman has been racking up wins in recent months.
Toto Wolff - Mercedes' team boss - suggested at Zandvoort last week that Verstappen's influence within Red Bull is so big that as early as the design of the car, Verstappen's driving style is being moved towards. In Monza - during a press moment with the media - Verstappen responded to this theory. "It doesn't work like that at. I just drive the car the fastest way possible. I’m not there to tell the guys to give me more because that’s how I like it."
Verstappen has no wish list
In other words: Verstappen does not come up with a wish list when designing the RB19, only to indicate that this or that should be implemented in a certain way. "I just say ‘Design me the fastest car and I’ll drive around that’ because every single year, every car drives a little bit differently," said Verstappen, who could take his tenth Grand Prix win in a row at Monza. That would be an absolute record.
The Dutchman is confident that his Red Bull is also the car to beat in Italy. "I think it's going to be a good track for us," Verstappen told.
