Verstappen proud after dominant win: 'Unbelievable weekend'
Red Bull Racing could celebrated two things after the Japanese Grand Prix. In front of engine supplier Honda, the Austrian team secured its sixth constructors' title in Formula 1 and the second in a row. Max Verstappen finished the job single-handedly with a very dominant win at the Suzuka Circuit.
A proud Verstappen
"Unbelievable weekend. To win here was great. The car worked really well on every compound," said a proud Verstappen after the Japanese GP. "The most important thing was to win the constructors. Very proud for everyone working at the track and at the factory. We are having an incredible year."
Verstappen was briefly threatened at the start by the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, but managed to fend off the attacks. "I had too much wheelspin at the start but after that it was a very straightforward race," said the Dutchman, who can clinch the world drivers' title himself at the Sprint race in Qatar.
