It should have been such a great day for
Sergio Perez, it turned out to be perhaps the biggest deception of his career. At the very bottom of the list, the Mexican sees himself at the back after the
Mexican Grand Prix. Not a much-desired victory, then, which went to his teammate
Max Verstappen. The Dutchman took his 16th win of the season.
Two starts were presented to the fans, the second midway through the race after
Kevin Magnussen's crash. The second part of the race saw the necessary, exciting battles. Verstappen had nothing to do with any of that, but behind him
Lewis Hamilton was initially battling with both Ferraris. The seven-time champion eventually crossed the line in second place. Third position went to
Charles Leclerc.
In Mexico, there were several drivers who surprised and then one name stands out quite a bit:
Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian finished in a handsome seventh place.
Alexander Albon will also look back on the Mexican GP with satisfaction. The Thai finished in the points again. Kudos also went to
Lando Norris. After a disappointing qualifying session, he worked his way up into the top five.
