After a rush of penalties, the FIA has finally announced the provisional grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen still starts from pole position, but behind him there are some changes to note.

Verstappen was fastest during F1 qualifying for the Brazil GP. The Dutchman went out quickly in Q3 and it paid off. With the upcoming rain and the track cooling down, the drivers who went out first performed the best. As such, Verstappen grabbed his 11th pole position of 2023, starting ahead of Charles Leclerc.

Behind them, Aston Martin's drivers line up. The British team gambled well by going out fast and P3 was a welcome success especially for Lance Stroll. Behind them, Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris will be particularly disappointed that they did not go out earlier.

Penalties go to George Russell, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. They were called to the stewards after qualifying for obstructing in the pit lane. They allegedly did not stay enough to the left when driving slowly in the pits, and received a grid penalty of two spots for doing so. Sergio Perez did not receive a grid penalty, the Mexican therefore starts from ninth position.
