FIA launches investigation into Wolff: 'We are aware'
- Toby McLuskie
Toto Wolff, along with partner Susie Wolff, is under scrutiny by the FIA for possibly passing on confidential information. The Mercedes team boss came under scrutiny a few days ago as fellow team bosses suspected him of leaking information.
The FIA is aware of the rumours circulating and let it be known in a statement that they are not taking it lightly. Indeed, the FIA previously received several messages from team bosses expressing concerns about the two front-runners. One anonymous team boss revealed, that he thought what Toto and Susie shared with each other was illegal.
Mercedes team boss Wolff possesses a huge amount of (confidential) knowledge about matters that should not always be shared with Liberty Media and FOM. Susie Wolff, in turn, gets a lot of confidential information about F1 Academy, FOM and also Formula 1.
FIA comes out with statement on Toto and Susie Wolff case
Partly due to the concerns of the team bosses, the FIA has now come out with a statement on the matter. "The FIA is aware of speculation in the media about allegations that a member of the FOM staff passed confidential information to an F1 team boss. The FIA Compliance Department is investigating the matter."
