Horner sees something striking about Verstappen: 'It's never good enough'

A season that, for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, went almost flawlessly came to an end in Abu Dhabi. During the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of July, there was bickering between Verstappen and his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase. For Red Bull, this was nothing more than ordinary, Horner explained.
"Well Max, he's tremendously demanding and that dynamic between race engineer GP and him took it again to another level and the trust that there is between the two of them," Horner revealed. "Max is just hungry for perfection and GP will give him as good as he's got to keep him on the straight and narrow," the British Red Bull Racing team boss told reporters including GPblog.
Horner saw striking example Verstappen in Las Vegas
"Max he's just demanding of himself, he's demanding of the team and he was quite uncomplimentary about the car in Las Vegas yet he was quickest and his race engineer pointed that out to him but that's Max, he's just hungry for perfection. It’s never enough," he concluded.
Three-time world champion Verstappen, who failed to win just a few races in the 2023 Formula 1 season, explained his ideal preparation for a Grand Prix. The result? Quite little. The Dutchman has no set rituals at all before getting into his Red Bull car.
