Lewis Hamilton celebrates 39th birthday
McLaren, the team with which Hamilton made his F1 debut and won his first world title a year later, congratulates the Mercedes driver on his birthday. "Happy birthday to seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton. Thank you for all the memories. Have a great day, Sir Lewis," reads the caption of the F1 team's post on X (formerly Twitter).
After McLaren, congratulations also followed from Mercedes, the team with which Hamilton achieved most of his successes, capturing six world titles. "He's a 7x World Champion. A game changer and a change maker. He's royalty. Happy Birthday, Sir Lewis Hamilton," reads the team's X-post.
For Hamilton, a win in the new F1 season will be the best present he could wish for. The Briton failed to win a race for two years while seeing teammate George Russell grab the only win for Mercedes since the introduction of the new generation of F1 cars. In 2024, Toto Wolff's team hopes to move closer to the dominant combination of Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen.
