Why is Verstappen excelling? 'That's important to do'

As time goes on, Max Verstappen and his Red Bull seem to become one. It has been happening for years. Suggestions that the Austrian team continues to develop the cars to the wishes of the now three-time world champion have been deemed as nonsense by Verstappen himself.
Speaking to Motorsport.com, Verstappen says stories about his 'unique' driving style are exaggerated. The Red Bull Dutchman says he has also adapted to the characteristics of his car. Verstappen cannot explain his driving style.
Verstappen was satisfied in 2023
No, on the contrary, Verstappen believes his driving style is not unique. What makes him so good is another facet: "I can’t tell you because it’s about being able to adapt to certain situations or what the car likes as well," Verstappen says after such a successful 2023 season. "What do I want? I want more grip. There’s a lot of things that you want, some things are not realistic. So, I just adapt to the car that I get given."
It is no secret that Verstappen prefers a car that has a lot of front grip. However, it is wrong to think that Red Bull is pushing for that during the year when making upgrades. According to Verstappen, Red Bull wants to put an ever-faster car on the track."I’m quite happy with the behaviour of the car, but if the car is a little bit more understeery I have to adapt my driving to that. Or if it’s more oversteery it’s the same way," Verstappen believed.
