With Lewis Hamilton announced at Ferrari for 2025, a major battle has been struck in the transfer market. Still, there are plenty of interesting seats left vacant for next year. For instance, the second drivers at Mercedes and Red Bull Racing are still unclear. Meanwhile, there are plenty of drivers vying for a seat.

Sergio Perez, for example, is not yet committed but hopes to extend his contract at Red Bull. Asked about his situation, the Mexican told Bahrain on Wednesday: "The main focus, especially starting a new season, for me, is just to perform on track. I think if we're able to do that, the rest always takes care of itself. So, it's such a long year. At the moment, the main priority is to get the season started. Start on the right foot and then the rest will take care of itself."

Ricciardo happy with composure

Daniel Ricciardo is emphatically in the picture to succeed Perez at Red Bull Racing in 2025. The Visa Cash App RB Australian says: "On track, obviously, you make life easier for yourself. That's really where the focus is. I have seen a lot happen in the last few weeks. It was nice to not be involved in anything. Obviously, I've been part of some silly seasons before. So, I was enjoying a more quiet time off."

Carlos Sainz is looking for a new employer anyway, as Hamilton takes over his seat. The Spaniard says: "Now it's the first race of the season. Chatting a bit with all the teams and how they are progressing and where they are. For sure, I mean, you get to decide where they're heading in a year, probably. You know, at the moment, I think, winter testing is obviously a priority. It's three days. The only three days of testing we have. So, if you put your head as where you're losing time, then they'll be able to sit down and decide."
