The second free practice went a little differently than many had expected. Mercedes impressed, with a first place for Lewis Hamilton and a second place for George Russell. Fernando Alonso set the third time.

It was certainly a surprise when Hamilton started setting fast times all at once. Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren did not match the times set by the seven-time world champion. These are only the free practice sessions of course and so it is not yet known how representative these times are.
