'There is no reason for Verstappen to think about Mercedes'
Sebastian Vettel wouldn't understand Max Verstappen if he was to leave Red Bull Racing at the end of this season. According to the German, there would be no reason for it from a sporting point of view.
Things are still unsettled within Red Bull Racing. Christian Horner seems increasingly certain of his place at the top of Red Bull Racing, and there are doubts about how long Verstappen will stay at the team.
Vettel surprised by Verstappen
"There is of course a lot of turmoil within the team at the moment, but from a sporting point of view, there is currently no reason for him to think of anything else (another team)," the four-time world champion told Sport.de.
Vettel left Red Bull Racing after four world titles. He competed for the team from 2009 to 2014 before switching to Ferrari in 2015. After his world titles with Red Bull Racing, Vettel came closest to a world title in 2017 and 2018 but lost out to Lewis Hamilton in both seasons.
After leaving Ferrari and spending a couple of seasons with Aston Martin, Vettel retired. The German returned to motorsport this year in Porsche's hypercar, and it seems very likely that he will compete in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
