From the Spanish Grand Prix, Formula 1 will introduce a new camera placed on the back of all 20 cars. This will start producing spectacular images of the action on the track.

An F1 Commission meeting took place last Thursday. In these meetings, various ideas are discussed and voted on by the Formula One Group, the FIA and the F1 teams. A new points system was also a topic of discussion on Thursday, but this decision has been postponed.

The new camera will make for incredible images

An agreement was reached for a new onboard camera to be placed on the back of the car. Currently, the rear-facing camera sits on the air intake. As a result, you can also see the rear wing in the picture. The new camera will sit on top of the rear wing, which will give a better view of the chasing cars.

The new positioning of the rear camera will start to provide more spectacular images of overtaking and on-track battles. This new camera is more in line with what is seen in other racing series, such as touring cars. The new camera will therefore be seen from the Spanish Grand Prix onwards.
