Hamilton loses eighth spot in sprint race after time penalty
Lewis Hamilton received a drive through penalty at the end of the sprint race in Miami, which will be converted into a 20-second time penalty after the race. As a result, Hamilton loses his eighth place and the single point.
Time penalty
Hamilton has been penalised for speeding in the pit lane. He should have had a drive through for this, but since the race had already been completed, he received a 20-second penalty. As a result, Hamilton ends up in 16th place, instead of eighth. The point therefore goes to Yuki Tsunoda.
Hamilton had to work very hard for that eighth place after several duels with Kevin Magnussen. In the last lap Hamilton still passed Tsunoda and seemed to have a point left, but that was not to be the case.
