Guenther Steiner is still a popular face around the F1 paddock. Following his exit from Haas, he has since become an ambassador for the Miami Grand Prix, and is in the process of writing his second book. Nevertheless, the former Italian team principal remains incredibly popular among fans thanks to his repeated features on Netflix's Drive to Survive.

'They still keep on coming'

Despite no longer being a team principal, Steiner has revealed that doesn't mean he has to say goodbye to the series. Speaking on the F1 Explains podcast in Miami, Steiner revealed what happened between him and Netflix after his departure from the American racing team: "They still keep on coming. And actually, when beginning of the year, when after I left Haas, they called me up, oh, can we come and film?"

"I said, what do you want to film for me? I'm just a guy sitting at home, an unemployed guy sitting at home, you know. What the interesting thing is that, oh, for sure there will be something, you know."

Before leaving the team ahead of the 2024 season, Steiner was the team principal for Haas between 2016 and 2023. He also featured in Drive to Survive since its launch in 2019, and quickly became a fan favourite. On race weekends, fans could often be seen around the paddock sporting merchandise with the Italian's face or catchphrases on. As a result of the show's success, Steiner has become rather close with the crew: "After years of filming with them, you know, you get to know the people, you get friends with the people.”
