FIA announce final verdict on Verstappen's incident in the pit lane
- Estéban den Toom
Max Verstappen put his RB20 in front of some other drivers in the pit lane in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix because he wanted to merge. After qualifying, the stewards reviewed whether the reigning world champion was at fault here. Verstappen himself had to come and explain to the men from the FIA, but the stewards decided no further action was required.
FIA give final verdict on Verstappen incident
There's no penalty for Verstappen. That is the verdict of the stewards. The Dutchman himself was (already) not expecting a penalty after simply communicating clearly with the team when he put his RB20 on the white line. Verstappen will start the Canadian Grand Prix from P2 behind George Russell, who took pole position in his W15.
