Things got tense between the Ferraris at the start of the race in Barcelona. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz clashed lightly after the latter made an overtaking move on his teammate. Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur has since also commented on the altercation between the two.
The two teammates hit each other in the opening stages of the Spanish Grand Prix. Both men were frustrated over the radio. Leclerc then said after the race that he did not understand why his teammate made the action. Sainz, on the contrary, said he did not intend to spend his entire life driving behind the Monegasque.
Vasseur reacts to Sainz and Leclerc incident
So there is a lot of tension in the Ferrari drivers' reactions. However, according to Vasseur, there is no reason to worry about the relationship between Sainz and Leclerc: "Out of the car, they have a very good relationship and a good mutual trust."
The team boss continued: "Now they are racers. For sure, you can have this kind of case. It's also because you had [little] between them and this competition all over the season. Sometimes what happened today is part of the game."
