Lewis Hamilton broke another record at the 2024 British Grand Prix, after he already did one too at 2024 Spanish Grand Prix with featuring on the podium for the 198th time, breaking his own record. Not only he has now featured on the podium in 18 consecutive F1 seasons, but also he also broke the most wins at a single circuit. So, which other Formula One records has the seven-time world champion broken?

Hamilton holds the most of F1 records in the history of the sport. Firstly, he holds the greatest number of world titles - seven - equal to Michael Schumacher. The Mercedes driver almost achieved his eighth in 2021, but was beaten by Max Verstappen who has won the title ever since. The British driver won his first Drivers' Championship in 2008 with McLaren, followed by a further six with Mercedes between 2014 and 2015, and then again between 2017 and 2020. His former teammate Nico Rosberg won the 2016 championship with Mercedes.

At the 2024 British Grand Prix, Hamilton broke another record. Thanks to finishing in P1 for the first time since the 2021 Saudi Arabian GP, Hamilton was able to win at Silverstone for the ninth time in his career. As a result, the Briton now has the most Grand Prix wins at a single circuit.

How many podiums, wins and pole positions does Hamilton have?

Hamilton has featured on the podium a record-breaking 199 times. This puts him ahead of Schumacher with 155, and Sebastien Vettel with 122. The British driver achieved his first podium in 2007 at the Melbourne Grand Prix. In the same season, he first win was at the Canadian Grand Prix, just six races into his career. Hamilton now holds the record for most F1 wins with 104. This is tied with Schumacher. The Brit also holds additional records for the most wins in a debut season (4), most wins with the same team - 82 with Mercedes - and most wins from pole position, 61, which he has held since 2017. Finally, the Mercedes driver holds the record for the most pole positions - 104. Schumacher follows in second with 68, with Ayrton Senna in third with 64. 

The Brit also holds a number of additional records, relating to career wins, pole positions, points, podiums, entries, race leads and fastest laps. Nevertheless, he still retains the record for being the youngest championship leader, which he has held since the 2007 Spanish Grand Prix. He was 22 years, and 126 days old. In 2016, he also broke the record for the most career points, 4709.5. As of the 2024 at the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton holds the record for the longest F1 career for a British driver. His career spans 17 years, two months, and 22 days. Since his debut in 2007, he became the first, and only black driver in Formula One.
