Charles Leclerc is not in the best shape of his career with Ferrari. The Monegasque driver has some lesser results behind his name and things did not go smoothly in Britain either. No points were scored as he switched to intermediates too early. It ended up being just P14 for Leclerc.

"We went for an aggressive strategy which definitely didn't pay off," Leclerc began in conversation with GPblog and others. On the tyre with the green cheek, Leclerc lost a lot of time because the track was still too dry. "Also, the rain was coming very hard the lap after, which it only came eight laps later, and we destroyed the inters in those many times, so that meant that we had to stop again. So, yeah, again, a very difficult Sunday."

The 26-year-old driver went on to explain from whom the decision came to enter the pit lane so early. "[It was] a mix. It's the feeling that I got, plus the information that I get, and surely we've done something wrong today, but I'll be looking into it, because it's been too many times I'm on the wrong side now in those conditions," Leclerc was self-critical.

No points for Leclerc and so he sees championship leader Max Verstappen further out again. This time by 18 points, given the Red Bull Racing driver's second-place finish. The difference between the two rivals: 105 points.
