David Croft is under fire for his commentary throughout the
Hungarian Grand Prix. The
Sky Sports F1 commentator, also known as 'Crofty', repeatedly made comments over
Max Verstappen's performance. He blamed the world champion's late night sim racing for his behaviour during the
Hungarian Grand Prix, including his 'heated' radio messages with his engineer. Now, the internet has defended Verstappen against Croft's comments.
During Sunday's race at the Hungaroring, Croft made repeated remarks over the
Red Bull Racing driver's performance and radio messages. The night before, Verstappen had taken part in an online sim race, which left him going to bed around 3 am. In
Imola, Verstappen did the same thing, and was able to win both races that weekend. Nevertheless, with his P5 finish on Sunday, Croft was not impressed, claiming:
“Max sounds like a man who could have had a better nights sleep last night…”How did the internet react?
The internet has since defended the triple world-champion, suggesting the comments made by the Sky Sports F1 commentator were unnecessary.
