Verstappen agrees with Hamilton: 'We have our platform'
While Formula One is currently having its summer break, the Olympic Games are in full swing at Paris. In the individual dressage event, Dutch competitor Dinja van Liere for example used F1's theme song as she completed her routine. According to Max Verstappen, he however does not want motorsport to become part of the Olympics in the future.
Verstappen agrees with Hamilton
"No, it's not for me. It's too much just car related," the Dutchman began to explain why he would not like his sport to enter the Olympic Games in the future. "I don't know, it's probably also with racing. You didn't grow up in that kind of Olympic environment," the three-time world champion continued.
"I don't feel like it. I don't think we belong at the Olympic stage. And that's fine because we have our own championship, which I think is really well received," Verstappen added. The Dutchman follows the events in a different way: "I enjoy watching the Olympic Games in front of my TV."
While Charles Leclerc would like to represent Monaco, on this matter, Verstappen agrees with Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver also answered this question with saying a simple "No".
