It may be summer break in
Formula 1, but not everyone is sitting still during the four free weeks.
McLaren CEO
Zak Brown drove in California on Thursday for the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion. But Brown didn't just drive any car, but the Jaguar XJR-9 that
Jan Lammers won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with in 1988 and the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1990.
"Solid day today in qualifying," Brown wrote on his social media.
"The Williams is feeling awesome on track, qualifying P3 with room to fight for more. We had a red flag in the Jaguar’s qualifying session which was a bummer as interrupted my best lap (P7) and finished up the day P12 in the BMW … ready for race day tomorrow." Beforehand, when
F1's Instagram page posted a picture of
Zak Brown in racing suit together with other team principals including
Christian Horner and
James Vowles, the CEO declared that he also wants to test his skills against his rivals in Formula One.
