Following qualifying for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix, Lando Norris could smile more. The McLaren driver managed to turn around the 2023 result, and this year, he will start from pole position ahead of Max Verstappen. With Andrea Stella declaring that Lando Norris is already at the level of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, the Dutchman rated his title rival's qualities.

Norris managed to defeat Max Verstappen by three tenths in Zandvoort on the Saturday in qualifying. "Lando's very, very fast. I think that's what you need to be. And that's why he's also in Formula One and that's why he's performing at the level that he's at. And it will only get better with experience as well, right?" Verstappen began about Norris' chances to become a world champion one day.

Verstappen is a three-time world champion already, "I mean, of course, I've been fighting for championships probably a bit longer. So you're probably a bit more experienced with that. But at the end of the day, when the team is working well, the car is working well, and you're driving well, then it just comes to you as well. So, yeah, I never doubted that anyway."

Whether Lando Norris could earn his title already in the current season is something the next ten Grands Prix will decide. The Briton's has to overcome a 78-point gap to catch Verstappen this year.
