Marko delivers scathing verdict: 'Red Bull one of the slowest cars'

After the Italian Grand Prix, it is clear: Red Bull Racing must first solve their own problems before the team can rejoin the battle at the front. Max Verstappen already stated that both world titles are currently unrealistic and Helmut Marko agrees with the Dutchman's words.
Marko delivers scathing verdict on Red Bull
Verstappen came out with a scathing verdict after the Formula 1 race in Monza: "Last year we had a great car, which was the most dominant car ever, and we basically turned it into a monster." The Dutchman also stressed that it is now up to Red Bull to drastically change the car in order to avoid losing out on both F1 titles this year.
Marko supported the three-time world champion's words. "We were one of the slowest on the straights. But it would not have been possible to drive with even less rear wing. We need balance in the car and need to look at where we took a wrong turn. We need to get back to where the car was still competitive," the top advisor told the German edition of Sky Sports.
"In the race, we could not keep up with the frontrunners either in terms of strategy or pace. We simply lacked speed and when Max pushed harder, he immediately suffered from graining again. Today was about damage control," he clarified. "Max cannot use his ability to drive incredibly on the limit because the car does not allow it, because he just reacts too unpredictably."
"One moment he has understeer, then oversteer, then the brakes are unstable again on corner entry. We lost the balance at some point with the updates and with the balance we also lost the ability to go fast with the car," added the Austrian.
