Verstappen expresses his clear preference for Red Bull teammate

The discussion about Sergio Perez has somewhat calmed down again. Before the summer break, Red Bull Racing was continuously asked if it planned to replace the Mexican after a string of poor performances. There is no question of that for now, however. Verstappen himself makes it clear that he has no need for a new teammate.
Verstappen wants to keep Perez as teammate
"I always said that right, it's all about stability and also how we feel in the team. And I said that at the summer break as well. I said I think we have other worries than having to think about the second car. For me that is not on the table," Verstappen said in a conversation with the Mexican branch of Fox Sports.
"I want of course Checo to be my teammate. He's a great guy, we get on really well, plus he's a great racer. We luckily stuck to that, and now we're just trying to improve the car together." The three-time world champion added.
In Baku, Red Bull hopes to take a step in the right direction, but Helmut Marko warned that the Milton Keynes-based squad may not be competitive again until the US Grand Prix in Austin. The F1 race at the Circuit of the Americas is scheduled for October.
