Colapinto joked about the FIA after Verstappen's penalty in Singapore
F1 drivers have not managed to publically shares their opinions yet about the steward's decision to penalise Max Verstappen in Singapore on Friday for using the F-word at the press conference. However, Franco Colapinto has already left a telling message on F1's Instagram account.
After Friday's sessions have concluded, F1's official account uploaded a short clip where Max Verstappen and Franco Colapinto well battling each other, as the Red Bull driver failed to overtake the Argentinian in the second DRS zone.
At one point, Verstappen decided to back out. Either because he was frustrated with the youngster, or just thought it is funny how the latest driver on the grid wanted to compete against him in a free practice session, Verstappen could be heard laughing over the radio.
The Argentinian then commented on the post: "Penalty, he is laughing." In doing so, Colapinto referred to the penalty Verstappen received in between FP1 and FP2 for swearing a day before. Ahead of the Singapore GP, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem declared that drivers should swear less.
