Max Verstappen refused to answer questions during the post-qualifying press conference on Saturday. During an earlier press conference on Thursday, the Dutchman used the word 'f***ed', which earned him a community service penalty. In protest, Verstappen did not respond to questions during the press conference after qualifying. He did not expect the post-race press conference to be interesting either.

Verstappen has announced to Viaplay that he will once again not say much at the press conference. Verstappen reported this before going to the press conference following his P2 position.

Asked about Saturday's press conference after qualifying, Verstappen said, "Because, why would I then all of a sudden just be nice to them and pretend there is nothing wrong, while I think it is all ridiculous what I am being penalised for. So yes, more than logical."

The Red Bull driver hints at a not-very-interesting media session. "Well, not very interesting, no. Because there won't be very much to tell," the world drivers' championship leader told reporters. Red Bull has since revealed that there will be a session with Verstappen for the written press in the hospitality after the FIA press conference.
