The international media rallied behind Max Verstappen amid his press conference protest, but most of the attention in the British press on Monday morning is focused on Lando Norris' dominant win. However, there is still a mention of Verstappen's statement in the press conference, who is described as "mad".

The Sun

The British tabloid The Sun has branded Verstappen as "Mad Max" amid the press conference protest. On Saturday, Verstappen gave very short answers during the post-qualifying press conference to make a statement against his community service penalty for saying the word 'f***ed' in Thursday's press conference. "Mad Max Verstappen REFUSES to answer questions after swearing row," reads the headline on The Sun. In the article, the paper didn't condemn or support Verstappen's actions like the International media but did highlight how Norris and Hamilton "rallied around" the Red Bull driver.

Meanwhile, the British outlet saw Norris end his pole position starting problems in Formula 1. "Lando Norris lifted his opening lap curse to toast a superb Singapore Grand Prix win. The statement win was over 20 seconds ahead of his title-rival Max Verstappen," they added.

Daily Mail

The Daily Mail see the Dutchman hanging on. "This statement-of-intent victory should have shaken up the groupthink among motor racing's cognoscenti that has Verstappen definitely clinging on. He might well do; he remains marginal favourite by dint of points on the board as well as his resilience and brilliance, both which traits were amply on show here. If you doubt it, consider his teammate Sergio Perez, who was among those lapped, finished 10th," the Daily Mail stated.

BBC Sport

The British Broadcasting Corporation hailed Norris' performance. "Norris produced the most commanding victory of the season. He converted pole position into a lead at the end of the first lap for the first time in five attempts this season, and after measuring his pace in the first laps to ensure he did not overwork his tyres, reeled off a string of fastest laps to bolt into the distance," the media company wrote.

Daily Express

The Daily Express wanted to highlight just how strong McLaren and Norris' dominance was in Singapore: "For one evening, it felt like we had time travelled back to 2023 with one car miles up the road from everyone else. Except this time, the Red Bull of Max Verstappen was the one doing the chasing. Eniterly in vain. This was Lando Norris at his imperious best," the outlet wrote.
