Pirelli's rain test cut short: Too much rain limits Mick Schumacher

Pirelli test falls through due to too much rain at Magny-Cours
Today at 17:30

Pirelli had a test scheduled where the Italian manufacturer could try out their tyres on a wet track at the Magny-Cours circuit in France, however, there was a slight issue. This time, there was too much rain at the French track, and therefore, only a limited amount of data could be collected.

It is Mercedes' turn to help Pirelli collect data about the manufacturer's rain tyres for the upcoming season this Tuesday and Wednesday, however, today, not much information could be collected.

Today, it was Mick Schumacher's turn to drive the W15 (tomorrow, George Russell will be in action), but the German driver could only manage to complete 29 laps in France. His fastest time was a 1:39.720, but because of too much rain instead of too little, he could not put more laps in.

The Magny-Cours circuit was the host of the French Grand Prix 18 times, between 1992 and 2008. Currently, there isn't a French GP on the competition's calendar, even as F1 returned to the Paul Ricard circuit on four occasions from 2018 until 2022, with the expection of 2020.
