Jos Verstappen: 'Max sent a message to the English in Brazil'
Jos Verstappen suggested his son has sent the perfect message to the English journalists and pundits who criticised him with his victory in Brazil. The Dutchman also praised Max following the Sao Pualo Grand Prix.
"He has shown who is the very best. And certainly to all those English journalists, ex-drivers and commentators. I think Max was insane today," Max Verstappen's father, Jos, told Viaplay.
He added: "I've been through a lot with him, but today was one of the best," praising his son who has made an important step to earn his fourth F1 title.
With Verstappen's victory and setting the fastest lap, he gained 18 points on rival Lando Norris. The Dutchman is now 62 points ahead and could even become world champion as early as the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, as now, only 86 points could be collected at most this season.
"This is very positive though. Let's hope so. Anything can happen very much and very quickly. There are still three races to go. We have a bit more rest now, but it looks good," Verstappen Sr concluded.
