Christian Horner was over the moon following Max Verstappen's victory in Sao Paulo. According to the British team principal, it was one of Verstappen's finest Grands Prix ever.
Despite finishing in P12 in qualifying and five-place grid penalty, Verstappen">Max Verstappen has managed to win the Brazilian Grand Prix in the rain. His team principal, Christian Horner could only praise his driver following his first victory since the Spanish GP. "It was a masterclass today and I think in those conditions the driver's skill really comes to a fore. He was in a league of his own."
"I think as a team we got all the calls right and the car had great pace. An outstanding drive. To come from 17th this morning, it felt everything had gone against us but he turned it around. After a great start around the outside there," the Briton continued.
On Lap 1, the Dutchman could already overtake six cars. "It was an incredible, incredible performance from him. So one of his very best," the team principal declared.
"I never expected to win that. I thought if we could get somewhere near the podium, it would be an amazing result. For him to have gone out there and won that race, it was an outstanding drive, absolutely. He was patient, he attacked when he needed to and his restart, he came from so far back. Truly, truly an outstanding drive today," Horner concluded, as the Dutchman now has a 62-point lead in the drivers' standings.

There is no question now that Max will be the 2024 F1 WDC. This is one season where it will be a well deserved win as the driver made it happen and wasnt his car that won it for him.... unlike many previous champions. Another team definitely had the quickest car for the past 15 races but Max has still pulled a gap of 9 points to his closest rival since Miami till today.
It will be remembered as that, Max’s legendary Brazil races 1 (2016) and 2 (today) or yesterday, I’m in US and it’s still today.
Guys on other forums who have been following F1 from 1970-80's have said that this was the best race they have ever witnessed.
One for the ages. It was a privilege to witness Max's skill today.
Recoveries like this, from P17 to win only happened 5 times now in the history of F1...1000++ races!! Crazy...
