Dutch media showcase Verstappen: 'A Dutch hegemony in Formula 1'

Max Verstappen became a four-time Formula 1 world champion in Las Vegas. He did not win the Grand Prix in the gambling city of the world. That went to Mercedes driver George Russell, but he did finish ahead of rival Lando Norris, and so the world title was won. On Monday morning, the Dutchman graced the front pages of the morning papers in The Netherlands.
The Algemeen Dagblad
"And that's four!" the Algemeen Dagblad wrote. The front page of the sports section features a Verstappen holding a large gin and tonic. The morning newspaper first starts with a quote from the Red Bull driver himself and then explains the photo. "Not bad eh? Max Verstappen toasts his fourth world title and puts his grand achievement into words with great sense of understatement. A Dutch hegemony in Formula 1, what a wealth."
De Telegraaf
De Telegraaf also published the Monday newspaper with Verstappen prominently on the first page. "Max celebrates fourth!" was the headline on the front page. Below that, the text continued about the Dutchman in the top class of motorsport. "World champion! For the fourth season in a row, Max Verstappen leaves no doubt who the best driver in Formula 1 is: the 27-year-old Limburger from Red Bull Racing."
The Volkskrant
De Volkskrant also had Verstappen on the front page in its sports section. "Four in a row," the odds headline read. "Max Verstappen made history on Sunday by becoming world champion for the fourth consecutive year in the most important racing class, Formula 1. Why was it unexpectedly difficult this year?", referring to the sports section article.
