January 1 is the day the new year begins. With this comes many changes in the world of Formula 1. It's the first day that drivers officially switch to their new teams, and we can provide you with a quick overview of all the driver changes for the upcoming 2025 season.

These drivers switch to their new F1 team on January 1

The biggest surprise of 2024 was Lewis Hamilton's switch to Ferrari. From Wednesday, the seven-time world champion is officially a driver for the Scuderia.

Hamilton's arrival at Ferrari meant Carlos Sainz had to find a place elsewhere. He found this at Williams. Sainz, therefore, is officially a Williams driver.

Liam Lawson has also officially become a driver at Red Bull Racing and, thus, Max Verstappen's teammate.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli has also officially become George Russell's teammate at Mercedes.

The Stake Sauber F1 Team has two new drivers, namely Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto.

Haas also welcomes two new faces: Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon.

Isack Hadjar will officially take his place alongside Yuki Tsunoda from January 1 at Racing Bulls.

Last but not least, Jack Doohan can officially call himself an F1 driver at Alpine alongside Pierre Gasly.
