Kyle Larson - the self-proclaimed best all-round driver in the world - would no doubt love it: Max Verstappen competing in the US NASCAR championship. Thanks to a change in regulations, this is now easier than ever.

Larson is one of the stars in the premier NASCAR championship. The American thinks he would beat Max Verstappen in most of the world's championships, although there are plenty of people who would expect otherwise. At least in a direct duel in the NASCAR Cup series, Larson would have the advantage, and who knows, maybe that battle will come soon?

NASCAR seeks 'world-class drivers'

Indeed, NASCAR has changed the regulations so that a 'world-class driver' is immediately guaranteed a spot on the starting grid when making a one-off appearance in the series. Incidentally, NASCAR has to determine whether an outside driver who wants to compete is actually world-class. No names or criteria are mentioned in the regulations, but it can be assumed that Max Verstappen could be that world-class driver.

Should Verstappen indeed fancy a race in the NASCAR Cup Series one day, he must register at least 90 days before the event. He could not, however, score any points in the event. However, Verstappen could possibly get on the podium or even win the race.
