- Savannah Lenz
Many drivers have already begun their pre-season training as the season comes closer to its start date. With only 61 days until the official start of the Formula 1 season, here is today's F1 news roundup.
Newey start date confirmed
Today, GPBlog managed to get a confirmation from Aston Martin regarding Adrian Newey's official start date. After taking a break, Newey will rejoin the world of motorsports on 3rd March. However, this time, he will be in a world of green instead of navy. While at Aston Martin, it is understood that he will be focused on the 2026 car. Honda will be joining the team as their engine supplier in 2026, with whom Newey has worked before at Red Bull Racing.
Pirelli to make HUGE changes
For the 2025 season, Pirelli plans to tackle certain issues with their tyres. They have done the research and worked with simulators to target areas that need to be improved. They took into account how the drivers felt and what they said, as well as the tyres overheating. Pirelli hopes to increase the tyre's durability as well as introduce new tyres that have better grip.
Audi championship timeline
Sauber team principal Mattia Binotto has spoken about the upcoming fight as Sauber rebrands to Audi. Binotto is in no rush to claim a championship title and instead has opted to be realistic. When speaking to Autosport he said, ''As you can imagine, just building, maybe a new facility, it takes three years to attract people, and good people." Thus, Binotto hopes that by 2030, they will be able to join in on the fight for a constructors title.
