Hamilton enjoys racing in this specific country: 'It has so much to offer!'
- Savannah Lenz
Lewis Hamilton has made it clear that he enjoys racing in the United States of America. Hamilton, who will now race with Ferrari in 2025, has previously shared his high views of the American races. The seven-time world champion has also defended the amount of celebrities who frequent the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Speaking to GPBlog and others, Hamilton said, "What is amazing is how different each city in the United States is. America has so much to offer: beautiful mountains, great coastlines and fantastic cities. I think the three circuits are in very different places. You have Miami, and then you go to Austin, which feels like a very young city and obviously has a lot to do with college football. I think that's one of the most fun race weekends of the year. And, of course, the race in Las Vegas."
Celebrities at Las Vegas Grand Prix
Regarding celebrities at Formula 1 races, specifically in Las Vegas, Hamilton did not view it as a negative thing. "The more eyes there are on this sport, the better.".
He acknowledged that the European races are different from the American races, but he says the real issue is how inaccessible the races are for the fans. "I would say that at races like some European races when you have people coming, there are fewer celebrities. There are still a lot of celebrities who show up, but I think we should always make sure it remains accessible."
Hamilton has previously called attention to the rising prices of attending a grand prix. "It shouldn't become so inaccessible to people who also work very hard for their money but can't afford a race weekend. This is a very glossy and glamorous race - one of many."
