Alpine plans to have a filming day with the new F1 car of Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan before the official test in Bahrain. It is not yet known when that will happen and on which circuit. In any case, GPblog understands it will not be on the circuit in Bahrain, where the first and only test in preparation for the new season will take place at the end of February.

The ten F1 teams will present their cars liveries on February 18. But most of the cars presented in the O2 in London will be show cars. The real cars will be seen during the official test in Bahrain. But most teams will probably choose to do a run with their cars before that test. This will happen during a so-called filming day.

The teams are allowed to have a filming day twice a year, during which 200 kilometres can be driven, 100km per day. These filming days are often used by the teams for a shakedown of the new car. In this way, the teams can check before the official test whether everything is working properly and to immediately identify or even solve any problems.

Alpine also has a filming day

Mercedes and Aston Martin confirmed to GPblog on Friday that they will have a filming day in Bahrain on February 25. This website has learned that Alpine is also planning a filming day. The location for this shakedown is still unknown. The Silverstone circuit would be the obvious choice, but that is pure speculation. No doubt further details about this filming day will follow in the foreseeable future.
