Haas announce major restructuring of team including historic signing
- Nicole Mulder
Haas have made a significant announcement, revealing the date when their car will debut on track for the 2025 F1 season. Additionally, the US-based Formula 1 team has also confirmed a major restructuring within its organization.
Haas announce major restructuring
Team boss Ayao Komatsu has revealed that Haas will undergo a major restructuring aimed at addressing key weaknesses. Although the American team made progress last year, the Japanese team principal believes that performance in some areas was still not good enough. Komatsu specifically points out that this was in the execution of race weekends and wrong strategic decisions.
The changes at Haas include the appointment of three senior figures: Former Audi Dakar team principal Francesco Nenci as chief race engineer, Carine Cridelich as the new head of strategy, and Mark Lowe's return to the team as sporting director.
Haas make history
Haas have appointed new race engineers for their drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman. Ocon will work with Laura Muller, who becomes the first female race engineer in Formula 1 history, while Bearman will team up with Ronan O'Hare, a former performance engineer.
Haas also announced that their 2025 F1 car will first hit the track during a filming day at Silverstone on 16 February, just two days before the joint car launch event at London's O2 Arena.
