Horner warns rivals: "Data ties in with our simulation tools"

During the second day of testing, Red Bull Racing ran into some issues during Liam Lawson's morning run, which were dismissed by ever the optimistic team principal, Christian Horner, who is sure that Red Bull Racing is out of the lack of correlation woods, at least for now.

Lawson had issues with the coolers, as Helmut Marko, Red Bull's chief advisor stated to GPblog following the afternoon winter session in Bahrain. something Horner is not at all worried about. "Other than that, it's going okay. We're working through a program. That's what testing's all about," said the team boss to F1TV.

"You try lots of different setups, lots of different configurations with the car because you wanna get all that data out of these three days of running," explained Horner, before elaborating further into Red Bull's winter testing and how it all seems to going for the Austrian team at the moment. "We're running [adhered] to a program, and the data ties in with our simulation tools."

Red Bull's correlation woes are over

Does this mean that the team has cleared the issues that hampered their 2024 campaign? "I think so. I think that we've understood some of the limitations of RB20. The team have worked very hard to try and address those." However, Horner argues, Red Bulls 2024 car was not a bad car at all.

"And let's not forget last year, we had a car that was on it on occasion, it was very, very quick. It won nine grand prix, four sprint races, had more pole positions than anybody else. It was just very sensitive. And to extract the performance was very difficult," added Horner.

The Red Bull team principal later concluded confident in the feedback the team's received from drivers Max Verstappen and Lawson. "So both drivers immediately reporting that the car is easier to drive. They can feel it more, and it's not on such an edge."
