Marko shows pity for crying Hadjar: 'Bit painful'
- Sandy van Wijngaarden
Isack Hadjar's F1 debut did not go the way he wanted. In fact, it barely went at all as he landed in the wall on the formation lap of the Australian Grand Prix. Helmut Marko was sympathetic with the young driver's reaction afterwards.
Marko sympathetic with Hadjar's reaction in Australia
Hadjar's reaction after crashing out during the formation lap of the Australian Grand Prix hit home with Marko, as the Red Bull advisor said when speaking on a broadcast with Austrian ORF. "A bit painful," said the 81-year-old.
The Australian Grand Prix started on schedule at Albert Park's rainy circuit. However, the race was soon thrown into disarray when during the formation lap, Hadjar spun and ended up backwards into the wall.
This crash ended the French-Algerians' first race in the series. The 20-year-old then burst into tears on his way to the paddock where he was then able to receive comfort from Lewis Hamilton's father. In the paddock, Anthony Hamilton told the youngster to 'keep his head up'.
