F1 Today | Red Bull spoke to FIA about 'mini-DRS'; Hill responds to GPblog
After the Chinese Grand Prix, the FIA announced that stricter rules regarding the 'mini-DRS' will come into play in Formula 1. However, even before the 2025 season got underway at the Australian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing had its say on the matter to the sport's governing body. Along with that, 1996 world champion Damon Hill took to social media to respond to one of GPblog's social posts.
'Red Bull approached the FIA in Bahrain'
'Mini-DRS' is a term that has been on a lot of people's tongues in the world of F1, with McLaren and Mercedes the main beneficiaries of a flexing rear wing at high speeds, resulting in more pace.
The FIA already had a say in the matter, saying that the rules regarding this would be changing after the Spanish Grand Prix. However, that date will come forward, because after the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, those stricter rules on the rear wings will come into play.
But, according to Auto Motor und Sport, Red Bull had a discussion with the FIA surrounding this issue before the season even got underway, with those conversations taking place during winter testing in Bahrain.
Hill response to GPblog post on Verstappen's conduct
Former world champion Damon Hill took to Instagram today, and he responded to a GPblog Instagram post, one where four-time world champion Alain Prost was comparing Max Verstappen and his driving to Niki Lauda.
The Brit has been a bit critical of the Dutchman and his driving, and while he does agree with Prost with some of his statements, he is not that quick to liken the Red Bul driver to the Austrian.
"Lauda drove with his mind, not his fists," said the 1996 world champion to his Instagram followers, using a GPblog post to make his point in the process.
