Not even Piastri takes Russell's Red Bull-McLaren comparison seriously

Even McLaren driver Oscar Piastri does not take seriously at all the comparison of the current McLaren car with Red Bull's 2023 dominant season made by George Russell. The Mercedes driver said McLaren is currently more dominant than Red Bull has ever been. Two years ago, Max Verstappen won 19 out of 22 races, leaving only one Grand Prix to be won by a non-Red Bull driver. Piastri can see the fun in Russell's remark.
Piastri responds to Russell's comment about Red Bull and McLaren
Piastri does not really take Russell's comment about McLaren and Red Bull seriously. "George, he's come up with some funny things in the last couple of weeks. We'll see. It's just one race, it's been a track that's been competitive for us the last couple of years, even when our car wasn't as dominant as a Red Bull [with a wink]. So, I think we'll go to different tracks where we will struggle more. That's for sure," he said.
The McLaren driver, who hopes to vy for his first-ever world championship this season, also hit back at Russell immediately. "If he wants to write off his season after the first weekend, then I'll let him do that. But, I think we're very aware that, you know, Melbourne was, I think, an exceptional weekend rather than what we're expecting to be the norm," Piastri said.
Verstappen also previously reacted to Russell statement around Red Bull and McLaren
Verstappen also reacted to Russell's statement earlier. He said it was impossible to know if you have not driven both cars. "I always struggle to really answer that correctly, because it's impossible to say, right? Unless you have driven that car yourself," Verstappen said.
