F1 share statement on Ferrari team radio broadcast
During the broadcast of the Chinese Grand Prix, as Charles Leclerc was getting closer to Lewis Hamilton, a series of radio messages between Riccardo Adami and the Briton was played on the TV broadcast. However, one was missing, where the seven-time world champion told him team that he will let his teammate go through.
"There was absolutely no intention of presenting a misleading narrative regarding the Ferrari team radio. Due to other situations developing during the race, the message from Lewis was not played but this was not intentional," an F1 spokesperson explained to GPblog what happened. The matter was also talked through with team principal Frederic Vasseur.
Ferrari had to go through a rollercoaster of emotions in China. After Lewis Hamilton managed to win the Sprint, which was both his and Ferrari's first ever victory at that event since the format was first introduced in 2021, but the Grand Prix was not so positive. Verstappen's talent shines in the RB21
While Liam Lawson did not have the best of starts to his time at Red Bull Racing, Max Verstappen can hardly be questioned, if at all. After two weekends, the Dutchman is in second place in the drivers' standings and eight points behind Lando Norris, who has the McLaren car at his disposal. F1 analyst Peter Windsor also sees that the current situation only shows how good the Dutchman actually is. He also commented on whether Sergio Perez would have done better than Lawson at the Chinese GP weekend. As for Ralf Schumacher, he has already declared that the rumoured swap between Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda will take place ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix to Sky Sports Germany.
